You can buy a new or used Japanese car with just a 20% deposit. Take an asset finance loan with one of our Kenyan bank partners; NCBA and I&M Bank and you can spread the repayments across 60 months. This allows you to keep your cash in your bank and repay your car in manageable repayments.

How to get finance for your car import.

Getting started is simple. Let us know what car you are looking for and our buying experts will help you find the right car. When you are happy with the car selected, they will give you a pro-forma invoice to apply for an asset finance loan.

Applying for finance

To make your loan application, share the proforma invoice with your relationship manager or local branch. Your relationship manager will help you to complete your application. They will require the following supporting documents:

*Fully completed Asset Finance application form. (Available from your local branch)

* Proforma Invoice

* Original bank statements for current 6 months period

* ID & PIN Copies

* All directors PIN and ID copies (for Limited companies)

* Company PIN card copy (for Limited companies)

* Certificate of Incorporation/Registration (for Limited companies)

* Memorandum & Articles of Association (for Limited companies)

* Pay Slips (for the employed)

* Logbook Copy/ Import Paper Copies.

When you receive your loan approval, we will then help select the new or used Japanese car your want to import.

Buying a Japanese car with finance

To buy the car, we will need your deposit. Once we receive it, we will buy your car, inspect it carefully and prepare it for export to Kenya. When your car reaches Mombasa port, our team will clear and register it. Whilst this is taking place, your car is be stored in a secure compound. We pay all the import duties and VAT.

Finance payments for Japanese car auctions

If we are buying your car from a Japanese car auction, then we will need a 5% deposit of the complete price to bid for you. A top-up payment to the agreed deposit level is then due within 7-10 days of winning the auction.

Shipping to Nairobi

Once your car is registered, we transport it to Nairobi on a car carrier. On arrival it is given a oil service, valet and prepared for handover to you. At this point, you will complete your loan paperwork with your bank and the log book will be registered jointly in your name and the bank’s names. The bank then issues the release note, allowing us to release the car to you.

You will be kept in touch with each step of the process by our customer service manager in Kenya. We will arrange a personal handover so you receive your car and familiarise yourself with the controls. Then it’s all yours and you can hit the road!
